Why this.

Trinket knocked a thing down, scared himself with the noise, and in the space of 2.5 seconds climbed up my chest and onto my shoulder like a cat. And then clung there, koala-like, until I managed to coax him down.

He weighs 50 lbs now. He will probably eventually weigh twice that. I... I kind of have to just resign myself to being crushed to death by this enormous furry idiot, huh?

Puppy! He's at this weird age where he gets spooked by any weird noise or any new thing we introduce to him (including... his own toys...). Hopefully he will grow out of it?

... Oh dear. This is adorable, obviously, but also I am wincing for how much less adorable that may become in the future as Trinket grows.

Yeeeaaah. And it happens so quickly it's a little hard to discourage him from doing it in the moment...

I mean, on the bright side, putting his weight on me until I calm the fuck down is legit supposed to be one of his service dog tasks in the future. Just... in a more controlled fashion.

Yeeeaaah, he has no awareness of his own size. Not that he was ever a reasonable size to pull that move off, in the time we've had him...

He's a lab/pyrenees mix. Not as fluffy as that cross might lead you to believe, but he is huge and still growing at an alarming rate (already bigger than one of my other dogs and rapidly closing in on the oldest).

My aunt and her husband got a dog last year, and he’s, I dunno, 30 or 40 pounds? And he still thinks he’s a puppy and can be a lapdog. (He is not. He tries to be a lapdog and it usually ends with whoever he’s sitting on scooching backwards because all the space they had is now full of dog.)
