This is not the last snowfall, not our last embrace...
And then I fell off the face of the world again. Sorry, guys, I had another episode of sleeping almost constantly for a week, and then weird issues with vertigo and nausea and brain zaps that I'm pretty sure are related to my meds.
I'm feeling mostly better now. Sleeping normally, waking up at a reasonable time, actually getting things done. I've had the house to myself for a few days, which is nice, I get a Jae tonight, Mat comes back tomorrow, and I woke up to snow this morning! It's actually still snowing, slowly but steadily. So the world is forgiven for that week or so of unconsciousness.
Now that I am capable of staying awake long enough to put one together, here is my late holiday wishlist, if anyone is interested.
STEP ONE
☆ Make a post to your LJ/DW. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related to medium to really big. The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
☆ If you wish for real life things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!
☆ Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ/DW so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
☆ Surf around your friends list to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...
☆ If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true.
☆ You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1) Warm things! Fingerless gloves, fuzzy and/or knee socks, smallish blankets I can carry around the house with me, sweaters/sweatshirts/hoodies that are comfortable enough to wear around the house (they kind of need to be really soft or they'll drive me crazy), and scarves! ...my circulation is crap and I'm almost always freezing. If you couldn't guess.
2) Notebooks. My preferences are college-ruled, pretty and/or unique designs on the cover, and strong enough to be carried all over the place and not fall apart, but I will take everything. I'm neurotic with my notebooks and use each one for a specific purpose, and this leads to me needing... kind of a lot of them. :|
3) A copy of Scrivener for Windows. It is my favorite program for writing, my trial is rapidly running out, and I cannot afford it.
4) Paid accounts and/or extra icons for my active RP characters, if you don't mind giving LJ money. These would be
nolimitation,
nobodysfetch and
w_for_wizard. (Georgia is active too, but is using the paid trial glitch and is fine with her current icons.) NEVER MIND, LJ APPARENTLY DOESN'T WANT OUR MONEY ANYWAY. Paids for my DW characters are still more than welcome.
5) MUSIC. Any kind of music, I am not picky. Mixes for my characters or fandoms or, IDK, zombies are love, but I'm just as happy to get massive zips full of random songs you think I'll like.
6) BOOKS. Yes, I have a pile of books I need to read/reread that could probably kill me if it fell on me. (Okay, that's not quite true. Yet.) That doesn't mean I don't want to add to it. Fantasy, scifi, horror and YA are awesome. I would also really love books on writing, and shiny reference books, especially if they're about mythology or law enforcement or war. (And right now I would really appreciate any kind of reference re: the Middle East pre-Islam, the Caucasus, or the Mongols. Also Native American mythology, especially from the Northeast and Southwest. And fairies, and tricksters from any mythology. :|)
7) More friends/readers/people to talk with on DW (or LJ, I suppose, but I mostly live on DW these days). IDK, I'm lonely a lot of the time, and anything to let me know I'm not just talking to myself would be nice. So if you've been lurking or reading me on your network or just wandered by and think I seem like someone you might like to know, you are more than welcome to add me now.
8) Pillows, blankets, or stuffed animals. Size and/or color doesn't matter for the pillows and blankets, I just like to nest in them and do not own enough. I can never own enough. The stuffed animals are because sometimes I need something to cling to, and my live animals get annoyed with that pretty quickly, so big enough to cuddle would be good, but beyond that I don't care. Though I would really, really love Ebola. (Actually, I would love any Giant Microbes, I'm not even kidding. If only there were a Kellis-Amberlee plushie, it would be my best friend forever.)
9) A digital camera. I don't want anyone to go out and buy one for me, but if there happened to be one lying around that you didn't want...
10) Some kind of art to put on my walls - now, or whenever I get an apartment of my own. Seriously, my walls have been sad and bare since... um... ever, and this needs to be fixed.
11) In the realm of impossible wishes, a job that won't kill me. An apartment (that allows dogs). A car or some other form of reliable transportation. Furniture of any kind. A desktop computer - not even a new one, just one that works. Money to get the dog spayed. A doctor who will actually figure out what the fuck is wrong with me. ...yep.
